<lb n="6"/><span>Cuiream sinn féin fé do choimirghe,</span>
<lb n="7"/><span>O's leat féin an oidhche anocht.</span></p>

<lb n="9"/><p><span>A Bhríghid ní Dubhthaig dhuinn</span>
<lb n="10"/><span>Do-bheir luing ó phort go port,</span>
<lb n="11"/><span>Cuiream sinn fád chomairche,</span>
<lb n="12"/><span>O's leat féin an oidhche anocht.</span>

<lb n="16"/><p><span>Dubhthach was the name of St. Brigid's father.</span>
<lb n="17"/><span>"Abhrad-chruinn" (having shapely eyebrows) is purely</span>
<lb n="18"/><span>conjectural.  Oidhche seems to rhyme with the 2nd and</span>
<lb n="19"/><span>3rd syllables of comairche.  - ED.</span>
