I.  I am a young fellow run out of my
land and means, Is cailleacha 'n bhaile ná

We made up our minds with each other then to elope'

We embark'd with a captain next morning to sail
away,

When we reach'd unto London, policemen were on

On the day of our trial her mother swore severe,

That her daughter was simple, that I was a scheming
rake,

VII.

When we were acquitted my true-love I did embrace,

grádh mo chléibh.
He put on the know and 'twas easy he got his change,
