NOTES AND QUERIES. (478.) Cad is ciall do'n rann so? Fuaras é i láim- sgríbhinn do cheannuigheas i Lunnduin sé míosa ó shoin - Air an altóir 'tá an mháistín so síontaigh air sop Ní'l tart air, cidh b'fháirsing a chraos agus a chorp Ma chreachsa nach bhfuil a naicne so bhían sa mbrot Cho lag meataigh gan spracadh leis fein anochd. Amen arson Chailleach. R. A. Stiubhairt Mac Alasdair. [Is dóigh linn gur ceathramha í do cumadh ar na "Soupers." Is éigean é cheartughadh mar so : Air = ar, mháistín = maistín; síontaigh = sínte, b'fháirsing = b'fhairsing, ma chreachsa = mo chreach-sa, a naicne = an aicne (i n-áit "an aicme"), bhían = bhíonn (bhíos), cho = chomh, meataigh = meata, fein = féin, arson = ars' an. Deirtear "aicne" i gCúige Uladh i n-ionad "aicme," agus bíonn "brot" aca ann i n-áit "anbhruith." Do chualamar "chomh lag meata agus (le)" ann comh maith céadna. Is dócha gur i Leith Chuinn do rinneadh an cheathramha ar éan-chuma. - F. an I.]
