637. Cad é, rud Eigin Rud éigin Má An bhfuil an aimsir fuar anois? Ní'l; bhí sí fuar indé, acht ní'l sí fuar indiu. Atá an aimsir te, tirim, fuar, fliuch, bog, cruaidh, tais. An bacach tú? Ní bacach mé, acht atáim bacach anois, ata mo chos briste. Is te teine, is fuar abhainn, is mall asal. “Is binn beul 'na thost,” is seanfhocal Gaedhilge é so. Atá rud éigin 'na sheasamh amuigh ar an mbóthar. Cad é? Ní'l a fhios agam, atá an oidhche dorcha. An capall é, nó an duine é? Agus má's duine é, an fear nó bean é? 638. Is searbh an fhírinne. 640. Nach, not, used in sentences with the verb is where a question is asked. The verb is, as after other particles, left out. Nach tú an fear? Is mé Nach í sin an bhean? Is í. 641. Feuch an bád beag ar an loch, nach deas é? Is áluinn an tír í so. Ní maith an bóthar é sin. An loch nó an fairrge an t-uisge úd? Nach deas an sgeul é sin atá ins an leabhar nuadh so? Is deas; agus is maith an sgeul é. Is breagh an bhó í sin ata 'na seasamh ins an abhainn. Nach milis an t-uisge atá ins an tobar úd? Is an-mhilis í, go deimhin. Is críonna an bhean í.
644. Proverbs - Is maith an sgeulaidhe an aimsir. Is fuar an rud clú gan caraid. Is maith an t-anlann an t-ocras. Fad ó shoin 645. Cad é sin amuigh ar an mbóthar? Ní'l fhios agam. An duine é? Ní duine é, atá sé ró-mhór, is capall é. Cia thú féin, amuigh ag an doras, an fear nó bean thú? Atá Cormac 'na fhear mhór láidir anois. Feuch an loch úd, ata se 'na loch anois, acht bhí sé 'na mhóinfheur nó 'na leuna fiche bliadhain ó shoin.
