The “Indefinite” (”passive”)
form.

The following good example of the
continued use of the above was given me
by Father O'Leary at Castlelyons. It is
thus that children used to speak of the
sluagh sídhe for fear of offending them:—

Áit ana-aereach is eadh an áit sin: nuair
bhítear ag gabháil an treó sain i n-am
mhairbh na hoidhche, airightear coisidheacht d'á
déanamh agus fothrom mar bheifidhe ag rith agus
fothrom eile mar bheifidhe ar teicheadh, agus
annsain airightear fothrom mar thiocfaidhe
suas agus mar bhuailfidhe agus mar bheifidhe faoi
bhualadh agus mar brisfidhe, agus annsain airightear
mar bheadh dearg-ruathar agus tóir.
